Qld Airtrain Citylink is a Queensland company formed specifically to undertake the development and operation of a rail link between Brisbane Airport and the city of Brisbane on a build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) basis. See attached Figure 1. Airtrain's shareholders are Colonial Group Staff Superannuation Scheme, Airtrain Trust (4 superannuation funds), Hyder Investments, GIO Australia, CDC Projects, Transfield & 26 smaller investers. The BOOT project is fully privately funded and is the only Infrastructure BOOT project in Queensland since the Gateway Bridge. Operates under a 35 year concession and 35 years after construction, the project will be transferred to Government ownership at no cost. Transfield Construction - Queensland is designing and building the Brisbane Airport Rail Link, and 8.5 km elevated spur line linking new stations at Brisbane Airport's Domestic and International Terminals with the city and the Gold Coast. Transfield Services - Queensland has been contracted by Airtrain Citylink to operate and maintain the Brisbane Airport Rail Link for the concession period of 35 years. The Project is valued at $220 million dollars. The design and build component is $113.6 million. |
