The study of construction practices in N.S.X. must commence with a knowledge of the organisation and the following chart has been prepared to show how all the necessary technical information is channelled to the Construction Engineer, and thence to the staff engaged on the actual assembly and installation.

Under the direction of the Signal Engineer and his assistants, circuits, working sketches, building design and power supply arrangements are prepared, and forwarded to the Construction Engineer through the Outdoor Assistant.

Advantage is taken of the use of new equipment and techniques. Before reaching the Construction Engineer these are developed and tested by the Technical or Design sections according to their type, usually this involved bench tests, field tests and trial installation.
