The W.A.G.R. manufactures a standard plug-in relay rack unit for installation in relay rooms, the final rack assembly comprising a multiple of these units. The unit is not provided with terminals for inter-rack wiring and is not intended to be pre-wired. Facilities for pre-wiring in the Perth Depot are inadequate for this purpose and it has always proved more convenient for relay racks to be wired on site.

Notwithstanding this practice, in the case of certain installations being currently undertaken by Contractors, arrangements have been made for the relay racks for these installations to be pre-wired in Perth in order to facilitate railway inspection and testing of the racks.
