199211 – Perry – State Railway of Thailand Resignalling and Provision of Centralised Traffic Control Central Main Line Project: Implementation of the Project

The title of this paper – Implementation of the Resignalling Project – leaves it open to
the possibility of being a recital of details of the equipments being installed, whilst on
the other hand it was earlier suggested that it should discuss the “Difficulties” of implementing the Project. This paper attempts to convey a balanced proportion of each, subject to the understanding by the reader that so far as any Difficulties are concerned they are per se as perceived by the author and should properly be described as “Experiences”.

The paper also attempts to give an insight into the features of the Project that are significant in that they represent either a departure by S.R.T. from existing practices, or are perhaps particularly relevant to S.R.T. and the culture of Thailand.
