The Antiene to Muswellbrook resignalling contract was awarded by the State Rail Authority of New South Wales (SRA) to Kilpatrick Green Pty Ltd on the 28th May 1993 who in turn awarded a sub contract to Ventura Projects for the provision of the new Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) and Train Control Systems and other associated signalling work.

While it may appear premature to be presenting a paper at this stage of the project, the project duration is only twelve months and finalising the CBI system configuration is an essential prerequisite to much of the project system engineering.

It effects the vital and non vital cabling arrangements, the vital and non vital application programming and the interfacing to the Train Control System and must be settled now to ensure a prompt start to the project.

Consequently Ventura Projects is actively in the process of finalising the configuration for the CBI portion of this project and so in this regard it will be appreciated that this paper is particularly current.

When completed, by the end of May 1994, this CBI system will be the largest Microlok installation in operation outside the USA.

Date of paper.
